Internship Programmes

The institute provides internship programmes and opportunities for students. Since 2016, about 50 undergraduate and postgraduate students have interned at the Institute. Sinil Lee, a PhD student from Universiti Brunei Darussalam was the most recent to intern at the Institute. His research area is Prospects and Challenges towards Closer Regional Cooperation in Borneo, and the Benefits and Implications for Brunei.

Our internship work here include:
i. Assesing the existece of regional cooperation in Borneo, focusing on 'functional cooperation' and 'economic cooperation'. This analysis will cover areas such as transport, border-crossing, and immigration for functional cooperation, and trade and investment for economic cooperation.
ii. Examining the national policies of Sarawak and Sabah in relation to promoting greater regional cooperation in Borneo.
iii. Evaluating the impact of ASEAN and BIMP-EAGA on regional cooperation in Borneo.
iv. Investigating the prospects and challenges associated with regional cooperation in Borneo.
